Double-wire production can be useful for repeated stirrup orders, but a buyer must check the approved working range and the actual shape program. Single-wire and double-wire capacities should be evaluated separately.
Check both capacity ranges
Ask the manufacturer to list permitted diameters and steel grades for each operating mode. A maximum single-wire diameter is not evidence that the same diameter can run in double-wire mode.
Compare usable output
Evaluate completed, acceptable pieces over a representative production period. Include coil loading, setup, drawing changes and collection time. A peak feeding-speed figure does not represent the finished output of every stirrup program.
Inspect both finished pieces
For a double-wire demonstration, measure pieces from both wire paths. Check leg lengths, angles and consistency after repeated cycles. Confirm the adjustment procedure and the handling arrangements for two incoming coils.
