Specify the hole geometry
Use a clear drawing datum for hole locations. State whether dimensions apply to the flat blank or finished bent component. Distinguish round holes from slots and note the direction of elongated openings. Include acceptable burr and surface requirements where they affect assembly.
Confirm the punching arrangement
Ask the manufacturer to identify the punch and die set supplied with the machine and how another hole size is handled. Clarify whether the quote covers a standalone punching process or punching within a forming machine. These are different production scopes and should not be assumed interchangeable.
Inspect a meaningful sample
Use the intended material and drawing revision for the demonstration. Check hole size, position, appearance and compatibility with the customer’s assembly. Request the actual result for your application instead of judging punching capacity only by an unrelated video.
